Fishtrap
Fishtrap: The fishtrap was the most
common way of catching salmon. The Tlingits would put
a wooden fence across a river with rapids and the fish
would swim upstream into wooven baskets on the fence.
Another method for catching fish with a fish trap was
to put wooden posts tightly together in a stream which
would slow the salmons journey up river
and the tlingits would spear them. |
