Deer
Deer was a very essential food for native people because it was a big enough meal for a whole native tribe. It was also one of the hardest to hunt. Preparing deer took a long time. First you would spear the deer. Then a few men would carry the deer back home. After that they would cut the deer open from the belly, remove all the things the didn't want, including the head, and put it in the smoke house to dry (like the salmon) for about one day. After it was dry, they would skin the deer meat from its skin, and cook it over a big fire that would be made. With the bones of the deer, natvies would make tools and other things to make sure that they didn't waste any of the deer. You could also eat the deer meat with seaweed to give it some salt.
