This site was initially created during the summer of 2000, by
Jacoby Ballard of Colby College, Maine, in internship with the Institute
of Social and Economic Research at University of Alaska, Anchorage,
and Alaskans Listening to Alaskans about Subsistence, a project of the
American Friends Service Committee.
This site is currently being maintained by ----, and
is intended to be a "living document" that will continue to
be updated and expanded. Ideally, it will represent one place to find
a diversity of views and resources on the topic of subsistence in Alaska.
The site is necessarily an incomplete resource, and visitors are reminded
that the simple fact of what has and has not been included on this site
to date can give a particular slant to the issue. No position is meant
to be implied, and you are encouraged to seek out many resources and
talk to as many people as you can in forming your ideas on this issue.
We do not have the space or maintenance resources to
post a bulletin board as part of this site. But we hope that you will
contact us if you can help fill in gaps in this timeline. If you have
anything to contribute, please contact ---- a ---------.
