A{ixi antr’ixixidili’anh. We learn with each other.

Student goals for the semester: Make sure that you have emailed to Alice your  response to this question:  How will you know when you’ve reached your goals? It is important to me that I receive your response.  I plan to share everyone’s ideas via email but I don’t want to talk about this in class because I want to limit our use of English during our precious time with Elders.

GRAMMAR:

Information on page 68 in the Deg Xinag axa Nixodhi{ Ts’in’ Verb Lessons suggests that the –t- in ditidhiq’onh may be a ‘qualifier prefix’ indicating something is just starting to happen.  This is called “inceptive” mode.  Also the –dh- may be a ‘conjugaton prefix’ found in words that mean movement to a point.   Compare:

Git’on’ ditidhiq’onh.

Leaves starting to turn color. [burning]

Git’on’ deq’onh.

Leaves are turning color. [burning]

So{ ditidhi'on’.
